It’s taken me a little while to get this up. I had hopes of posting it as soon as we finished our time along the Gulf Coast, but well……….. Disney is a whirl wind, and I ran out of energy, so here is a little taste of how we spent days 9-14. After our adventurous few days in the Ozarks we arrived in Perdido Key, just outside of Pensacola ready to CHILL!
Our first full day involved a lot of rain, and not much outdoors time, so Claire and I watched a Star Wars movie on the TV, and we later went to Bingo at the FloraBama bar/restaurant. That was an adventure with a funny hillbilly calling free bingo while we ate unhealthy food and had a drink (we forgot to take a photo).
On day two we packed up our bikes, and rode them the couple of miles to the beach for about 4.5 hours. My panniers and rack came in handy as we were able to bring lunch, water, towels, an umbrella and sand toys. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time before we settled back in at the trailer for some grilled dinner. We have been using our little O-Grill quite a bit on this trip. It’s compact and has really done a great job!
The next two days were spent further east along the coast. We stopped on Pensacola Beach for lunch before meeting up with a long lost friend of Dave’s from when he lived in Germany with the Air Force. James and Janelle graciously opened up their home to us for two nights and Dave and James quickly fell into an old pattern of talking politics and all things Air Force. We spent the whole day on Friday at the beach with them and their 4 children. Navarre Beach was stunning. We’ve never seen sand so fine and so white!
Saturday morning we got an early start and drove the 7 hours to Tampa to have dinner with another one of Dave’s friends John. He, and his wife Borda gave us a whirl wind tour of Tampa, before we hit a few microbreweries. It was just a short jaunt over to Disney world after Breakfast on Sunday at a really hip spot along the river. We spent a little time in the pool relaxing before the craziness started the next morning.

You will be glad you didn’t fly back for reunion. It’s hot with lots of bugs. They are catching lots of 🐟! But then again …. that can describe Florida🤣Hope you get some rest after DisneyWorld.🤗 👐💕mom & dad
