The Wetheringtons are hitting the road! supposedly when life gives you lemons you should make some lemonade. My kidney disease is creating another blip in the road, but Unlike last time where it snuck up on us a bit, this time we’ve got a little heads up, so what is a family to do but quit their jobs and carpe the diem out of life.
Starting right after a weekend trip to the mountains on memorial day weekend with some friends we will be heading east across the plains of Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma on our way to the east coast. You can see our route in the featured image above.
We have reservations at Disney World (shhhh…… Claire doesnt know yet. It’s a surprise), and reservations in Washington DC for the week of 4th of July. Beyond that we are kinda sort of winging it on where we stay and how much we do. 
The plan is for about 55 days on the road. It’s going to an adventure for sure. None of us have done anything quite like this before. Last year we spent 10 days making our way down to Tucson, AZ and back. It was a blast, so it was only logical that we should super size it.
We will be traveling in our Volvo XC60 and pulling an 18′ MPG “teardrop” trailer. You can see more about the travel rig here. We hope to update the pages as we go along with a combination of travel reports, and hopefully some photography. We even got Claire her own Camera. Maybe a new photographer will be born.
