Welcome

Please join us on our Journeys this summer.  We’re hitting the open road.

How we are getting around.

Last summer we bought a 18′ MPG “teardrop” trailer.  We were a little nervous about puling it with our Volvo XC60 T6, since the weight of the trailer fully stocked is approaching the tow rating of the Volvo, so we took it on a maiden voyage for a quick overnight in the mountains.   It did great!  And the adventures began.

In September we went on a 2000 mile road trip from Denver to Tucson AZ via Durango, the Grand Canyon and Sedona,AZ.  You can see a brief synopsis of this trip in the next blog post.  We had a great time and decided we needed more.

The Trailer is the perfect size for our family of 4.  Claire and Lucy share the converted dining table bed,  though lucy does sometimes find her way over to our bed in the morning.  Annie and I have our own queen size bed.   Breakfast, and coffee are a breeze in our little kitchen.  We have found this trailer very easy to set up and break down – Usually taking roughly 15 minutes.

Space is a premium in this trailer but we still found space for a very cool roll up aluminum table, a few folding chairs and the very compact Q-grill for cooking outside.  What more could we ask for?

Update: 5/26/18.

We are all loaded up and here are a few short videos to show how we will be living over the next 2 months.

You can drink a beer in the trailer when we stop by to say hi along our way.

I don’t think we will quite be going through there, but many things are possible. If we do, and have time we will give you a call.
